About Melanie Sov, PA-C

Melanie Sov, PA-C, is a highly trained physician assistant at the Fairfax and Reston, Virginia, offices of Gastrointestinal Medicine Associates. She graduated with her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she discovered her passion for gastroenterology during the internal medicine rotations. 

Before PA school, Melanie attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, earning her Bachelor of Arts in biology. She has served the community by working as an EMT and advocating for quality patient care as a member of the Inova Fair Oaks Hospital Patient Experience Committee in Fairfax, Virginia.

In addition to working at Gastrointestinal Medicine Associates, Melanie is a proud team member of the Endoscopic Wellness Center of America (IWLCA), where she helps patients achieve weight loss goals using new, innovative bariatric endoscopic procedures. 

She enjoys caring for patients with a wide array of gastrointestinal complaints in inpatient and outpatient settings. She maintains her advanced credentials with continuing education to stay current with the latest advances in GI treatments. Melanie is a proud member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants (VAPA).

In her free time, she enjoys staying fit, spending time with friends and family, and discovering new places to hike. Melanie warmly welcomes her patients to Gastrointestinal Medicine Associates and looks forward to helping them feel their best.
